This page explains what personal information AJW Web Design collects through this website, why, and what your rights are. It is written in plain English on purpose.
Who I am
AJW Web Design is run by Alex, based in Great Steeping, Lincolnshire. I am responsible for looking after the information you send me through this website. You can contact me at ajwwd@outlook.com.
What I collect
The only information this website collects is what you type into the contact form:
- your first and last name
- your email address
- your business name or website address
- the message you write
If you phone, email or message me on Facebook instead, I will have whatever you share in those messages.
Why I collect it
I use your details only to reply to your enquiry and, if you become a customer, to arrange and carry out the work. I do not use them for anything else, and I do not sell them or share them for marketing.
The legal reason I can do this is that you have contacted me asking about my services, and I need your details to respond (this is called “legitimate interests” and “steps taken at your request before entering a contract”).
Who else can see it
Your message passes through the services that run this website and my email:
- my website hosting company, MilesWeb, where the site and the form entries are stored
- my email provider, Microsoft Outlook, where I receive your message
I do not pass your information to anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long I keep it
If we do not end up working together, I keep your enquiry for up to 12 months in case you get back in touch, and then delete it. If you become a customer, I keep your details for as long as needed to provide the service and for my business records.
Cookies
I do not use advertising or tracking cookies on this website. If that changes, I will update this page.
Your rights
You can ask me at any time to:
- tell you what information I hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your information
- stop using your information
Just email me at ajwwd@outlook.com. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
